December 2003           Click here to go back to this year

We are still seeing the price of feed wheat rise steadily and January movement is around the £111 mark at the moment. Our problem is estimating how much we have left to sell at the moment. It is expected that we have around 100 tonnes left to sell, so a close eye is being kept on prices to see where they will go over the next week or so.

Winter Beans

Winter beans have got off to an excellent start this year. Drilled into excellent conditions last month, they are now well imerged.
Although we didnít plant last years crop until the first week of December last year, they have resulted in a confirmed yielded of 2.2 tonnes to the acre or 5.5t/ha.

Winter wheat, redrilled after the drought this autumn is looking extremely well now. Here you can see volunteer beans dying having been sprayed of 7 days before.
